Now let me get this straight from the start...besides having devoured Zen and the art of motorcycle maintenance at a formative age and being ever so slightly involved with one or two people who 'like it like that', I am no biker chick.
But the Dakar....It just blows me away.
It's so opposite everything I am...the danger and daring the excitement and endurance, but it just absolutely intoxicates me. Like breathing in a heady perfume, but this one is petrol and oil and heat and I don't think even Jo Malone makes it.

I've been following Simon Pavey and wait eagerly for his daily missives from the front line, he's blogging from the bivouacs and I love it. I read them and the overall Dakar news each morning and then in my own correspondent style I pass on the prose to G.
Currently 64th overall and riding stronger than ever
