Corfe Castle

We were camping around the corner from Corfe and so passed through the village again and again, although very busy and popular it was absolutely charming. Loved the buildings and the little village store was really good especially for local drinkies - Jon managed to try a different one each evening with dinner and we brought several gift boxes back for friends as well as ourselves.

The castle, apparently the inspiration for Kirrin Castle in the Famous Five books, was fabulous. We went on rather a grey and windy day but it was a wonderful ruin to explore and scramble around and George had a great time at the civil war re-enactment camp and then within the ruins themselves looking for clues and stamps on his national trust treasure trail.
