ABSOLUTELY FURIOUS or Dog Day Afternoon

Jon took these for me yesterday...as you can see George is exploring everything and becoming brilliant at standing and holding/cruising from item to item. Such development, it's amazing to witness.

Having decided to take a break and go to Centre Vale - our local park for an hour Jon also took these for me - which he ''what's app'd'' to my phone so I could see what a nice time they were having.

Unfortunately, almost straight after this was taken, and there is no easy way to write this - George crawled slightly off the mat and ate dog shit.
The stress in the immediate aftermath was HORRENDOUS, Jon RAN with the baby in the pram to the doctor at the other end of town and was seen, thank you to our diligent HV, immediately, unfortunately beyond the obvious washing his mouth out and cleaning him and his clothes, sterilising his dummy and monitoring him closely there was nothing more that could be done and by the time Jon returned home to tell me the news (in my sick bed) George's temperature had already hit 37.8.
The absolute DISGUST and ANGER this has caused both Jon and myself is of the highest level and Jon is currently in contact with the council over the matter - though they are lucky it wasn't the police. We have also threatened a high vis spray paint campaign to mark the areas of fouling if they don't take action. Both of us are HUGE dog lovers - but dog owners have got to take responsibility for their animals and not allow them to foul parks and pavements.

My absolute love and respect to my husband for dealing with such a difficult situation - my heart goes out to you for having to cope with this disgusting incident on what should have been a lovely break in the fresh air.

Today George's temperature has returned to normal after three doses of calpol to reduce his temperature (obviously fighting infection) and a terrified wait for him to start vomiting and develop diarrhoea, which touch wood, he hasn't.
He will not remember a single second of what happened, Jon and I will never forget it.
