Sometimes we have a drive out with no specific destination in mind, Jon calls this the left, right or straight on game, and we just see where the road takes us. In this case, we went up into the hills and turned right when we would usually turn left, we passed the pike, we passed the New Delight and then we turned a lot of different ways and passed the path to Hardcastle craggs and after it a hidden campsite, we went through Widdop and onto the moors, we saw a shepherd calling his dog, then a mile later we saw his dog patiently waiting with two sheep and looking back down the valley we could see the shepherd was now coming, we went past stone outcrops, erratics, drumlins and gulleys; streams and becks and raging torrents all stained brown from the peat and bubbling like coca-cola, we past a circular pillbox with a domed grassy roof, drove through a ford, then another and passed reservoir after reservoir and cloud formations par excellence.
