George woke early this morning but went back to sleep again giving us a little lie in, We had croissants and coffee for breakfast and George had some toasted muffin and pear. Afterwards we looked at things to do and see in the Wye Valley and Forest of Dean and then we put in the lamb.
We had a some playtime with George and then Jon tried and failed to fix the loo because B+Q didn't have the right part. Me and George napped and then around six we served up the scrumptious tea, the lamb looked glorious adorned with mint and pomegranate and just fell apart after it's five hours of l o n g languid cooking, we had this with new potatoes, green beans and a green leafy salad. George had some green beans, new potato and half a banana. Then he needed a big bath as is the way of things with BLW; baby and clothing (and floor and highchair!) get very very messy.
As I type he is in his cot, a rare thing as we co-sleep but as I wanted to change the bed Jon persevered reading him poems from his new poem book - his very own copy of 'A child's book of poems' which we got him for his 6 month birthday - I can't tell you quite how much this book means to me, but it was the book my darling Mum read to me throughout my childhood and I know so much of it by heart, it is so dear and special to me, the beautiful illustrations and the memories they evoked made me weep when I opened it on Saturday.
