I took George to Baby clinic today and he now weighs 12lbs 7oz and is 62cm long...definitely tall and slim like Daddy.
We also went to the Stay and Play for the first time and met a lovely little girl called Imogen and her Mum. I shook sleigh bells, tinged chinese bells, plinked indian pianos, and glocked xylophones...George fell asleep while I talked about Vitamin D, teething and sleeping through. One thing I did find slightly disconcerting was the fact that I felt old for the first time in my life and I'm only 34. Well, that and the pit full of red spaghetti...(!) - don't ask.
The weather today has been *appalling* with horrible squally showers and crazy gales...the latter made me think of this....wild is the wind...indeed.
I also had a sad phonecall to tell me a family friend had passed away - this is the third death I have heard about this week and my thoughts and love and prayers go to all of them and their families and friends.
We braved the sturm and drang to go to Burnley and I shopped in Tesco and Jon shopped in Asda...we are nothing if not democratic in our shared responsibilities(!) I purchased mainly baby and cat things, including some teething gel and an early teething ring (George is only 9 weeks and one day old but already has one tooth bud breeching his gum!!!) which I hope will be soothing for the wee fist sucking dribbler.
And speaking of.....
Lastly, we watched Ep 2 of Sherlock - I have been saving it's viewing like the build up to an incredible orgasm - it was well worth it - another wonderful piece of acting and writing...Mark Gatiss is a genius and Benedict Cumberbatch....gasp.
On Friday Jon came home for lunch and then we all went back to Oldham in the afternoon...
We took George into the office to introduce him to Jon's work colleagues and were SWARMED by female employees.... J then had to go to a meeting and left me at the mercy of a horde of broody women(!) Well, he was - as you can see, looking rather dashing...
Special mention must go to his stripey jumper knitted for him by Auntie Rachael and that fabulous furry hat...
After the office melee, me and George went looking round the shops (why are childrenswear sections ALWAYS on the first floor????!) and what was his reaction to Oldham????.....
