Snow and snapshots at Samlesbury

Today we had a meeting with our photographer John Burrows at the Hall and it was beautiful to see it resplendent in it winter coat. Inside they have also dressed for Christmas and there are trees and large altar candles throughout, simple but fabulous decoration for a place that really needs no decoration. John was professional, courteous and engaging, he very kindly told us how excited he was to shoot our wedding and thanked us for our images, notes and ideas regarding what we want from the photography of our day.
Thankyou Jon, we have total confidence in you and your incredible talents.

Dress it up

Today I picked up my beautiful wedding dress from Liz at Nine Ladies Design It was a rather fraught journey down there as the M1 was closed due to an accident and we had to take the A roads through a snowy Sheffield, but it was well worth it!

I adore my dress and cannot wait to wear it, everything from the colour and the shape, the style and the textural silk material is unspeakably perfect. I can't thank Liz enough or recommend her more highly, her dressmaking skills are second to none and it was a joy to meet her and we have loved chatting and giggling about Chris Packham and Mrs Bitey, I also owe her many thanks for recommending Armstrong and Miller who I have enjoyed immensely.

Nine Ladies Design - Thankyou, I hope you are feeling the love....xxx

Snap, crackle and about to Pop

Today we visited any-day-now Mummy-to-be Suz and her small woofy dog Flea in Bury.

It was lovely to see the small but perfectly rounded Tree fairy and we had good coffee and cupcakes and talked about babies (hers) and weddings (ours). Lord how times change!!! :)

We are wishing Suz and Garry all our love and the very best of luck for the forthcoming birth and will be thinking of her watching Green Knowe - or should that be Green Noah? ;)

To a new life.

Lest we forget.....

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old,
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.

Bonfire night, our way.

Tonight we travelled Hebden-wards and I got cold waiting while Jon bought fish and chips, we then experienced a dead car battery incident, I pushed the car down the street and we darted away from the Traffic wardens who were closing in like sharks. We traversed G's hill and made our way to the end car-park where we eated, then waited, and waited, and waited for fireworks...

A cordite-burst through the clouds....

Bathed in sodium light....
I have the coldest nose in the world in this photo

Jon in sparkling form....
