My first visit to Hawkshead since losing Mum.... 

I wanted George to know where his Grandma lived so we walked him round the village telling him about her...we bought him a Gruffalo and a Peter Rabbit book, called into the Queens to give him a feed and caught up with the news of the village from the lady in the toy shop. I'm glad we went, but oh, it broke my little heart to pass the house and know she is no longer there.

Windermere Manor Hotel

With Shaz's wedding on Saturday and us meeting her on the Friday, we decided to come up to the Lakes a day early and I got a late booking at Windermere manor, our room in the annexe was perfect - huge modern space, king size bed, big deep bath and the icing on the cake was a private patio looking onto the lawn and trees. Big thumbs up for the incredibly kind staff who looked after us and especially George with great care, we loved our night there, though it wasn't long enough and hope to go back very soon.

It's all about the Octopus

I realise that I posted photos of George with his octopus only a couple of days ago, but at the moment, it's just all about the eight legged groove machine.
